30 years of cooperation between FP VUT and the University of Seville: New goals for the future
From May 26 to June 2, 2025, a team from the Faculty of Business and Management at Brno University of Technology, led by Prof. Koráb, visited the Faculty of Economics and Business at the University of Seville. The visit took place on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of successful cooperation between the two faculties.
The meeting was attended by Ing. Veronika Koláčná, Ing. Jan Luhan, Ph.D., MSc, Natálie Rontóová, Ph.D., and Prof. Ing. Vojtěch Koráb, Dr., MBA, on behalf of FP VUT. The Spanish side was led by Prof. José Carlos Casillas and Prof. José Luis Salgueiro.
The main objective was to evaluate the results achieved so far and define new areas of cooperation, which include:
- Cooperation in doctoral studies.
- Short-term lecture stays for postdoc colleagues.
- Internships for doctoral students with the possibility of dissertation consultations.
- Participation of Spanish colleagues in Brno International Week (BIW).
- Short-term training in Brno on the topic: Application of the PLS-SEM method in business research under the guidance of Prof. José Luis Roldan.
On this occasion, Prof. Koráb emphasized the importance of the cooperation to date, especially in the creation of books for small entrepreneurs, such as How Small Family Businesses Work and Can Small Businesses Operate Abroad?, to which Spanish colleagues contributed significantly. He also highlighted the importance of organizing joint conferences, which have been held alternately in the Czech Republic and Spain for almost ten years, as well as the contribution of Czech academics' lecturing activities at the University of Seville.
We look forward to the further development of this inspiring cooperation!
